Class schedule for 2010
Sunday intensive course
1) Level: Advanced beginners/Alarippu: Saturday, 21st August, 2010, 4 to 8 p.m.
2) Level: Intermediate/Jathiswaram: Sunday, 22nd August, 2010, 2 to 6 p.m.
Venue: atelier de la dance, Stubenrauchstr. 72, Berlin-Friedenau, (Ubhf. Walter-Schreiber-Platz, U9)
Limited number of participants. Fees: 1) 45 Euros, 2) 50 Euros
Registration requested until August 1st, 2010.
These classes can be put together as per individual requirements.
Regular open classes for stamina and precision:
Adavu-exercises, Adavus, jathis and item practice:
Sundays: 10 to 13 hours. Prerequisite: Introductory workshop or advanced beginners.
Regular thematic classes:
April - September 2010
- Hands and Eyes: Saturdays, 14 to 15 hours.
- Music lessons: Saturdays, 15 to 16 hours
Classes during the week:
- Music and nattuvangam – advanced learners. Mondays and/or Wednesdays, 18 to 19 hours or with appointment.
- Individual lessons for advanced learners and Abhinaya advanced - after appointment.
Modular Programme:
Module I: Quarterly Introductory weekend + Adavu-Intensive Part 1. Level: Beginners. For new students this course is a prerequisite to enable participation in open classes. Saturdays and Sundays: 14 to 18 hours. Upcoming dates: January 30th/31st and May 1st /2nd. Number of participants: min. 4/ max. 6. Fee: Early Bird Registrations four weeks in advance 75 €.
Module II: Quarterly Adavu/Jathi weekend-intensive. Level: Advanced beginners/ Intermediate. Saturdays and Sundays, 14 to 18 hours. Upcoming dates: March 27th /28th and June 19th /20th. Number of participants: min. 4/ max. 6. Fee: Early Bird Registrations four weeks in advance 75 €.
Module III: Choreography-Workshops. Level: Intermediate/Advanced. Easter, Whitsun and summer vacation modules possible. Dates, duration and price will depend on item to be taught. These workshops are prerequisites for participation in open class item practice.
Modul IV: Abhinaya-Intensive. Level: Knowledge of gesture usage and/or participation in regular thematic classes ‘Hands and Eyes’. Once a month from April to September 2010. Saturdays, 13 to 15 hours. Dates will be announced in March 2010. Number of participants: 4.
Modul V: Intensive studies in India. Duration and intensity based on individual requirements. Upcoming dates: February/March 2010.
Intensive Modules for Professional Dancers and Dance Teachers:
Beginning Summer 2010 – 2 Modules per year, each 3 weeks. Requirements: Advanced level and/or Arangetram.
